About Key West
The Florida Keys are an archipelago of over 1500 islands stretching off the southern coast of Florida. Key West is one of the most popular for tourists and it’s also considered the southernmost city in the United States. It’s known for its laid-back beach culture, beautiful white sand beaches and for being a haven for rest and relaxation. While being known for its Floridian elegance, it is a very different Florida than Miami or Naples. It has a modest charm without the flashy money of some other Florida cities.
The best time to visit Key West is between March and May when the winter crowds have gone and prices drop. The weather is perfect at this time, in the 70s-80s, with minimal rainfall compared to the rest of the year. The summer months see far fewer tourists due to heavy rains and high humidity. If getting wet doesn’t scare you, booking in the summer will secure you a trip at a much lower rate, but at the risk of running into hurricane season.
Getting to Key West can be expensive. There is an airport in Key West that services several routes in the United States, but fares are typically steep due to its smaller size. A popular option for travelers going to Key West is to fly to Miami or Fort Lauderdale and then rent a car to drive down to Key West. This can be a more economical option and will allow you to visit other parts of the Keys as well. There are also express ferries and other boat options to get access to Key West by water.

Our family had a phenomenal experience! Austin was prompt in communication and professional; he was completely flexible with the itinerary which was great for us. Austin’s knowledge of the waters and the area allowed us to experience some great spots. I can’t recommend this experience enough!
We had 4 people — me and my 16 year old, 18 year old and wife. I booked Austin because he said he’d tailor the trip to us. I wanted to do some fishing, my wife and daughter wanted to kayak, and my son wanted to chill. It was a perfect stress free day. Austin was top notch and fun to talk to.
My family had a great day on Mitch’s pontoon. He upgraded us to a larger one last minute which was great. It was so spacious we had a dance party on it! Mitch gave my father in law a great run down of how to navigate the pontoon and plugged in the coordinates to a small island on the gps for us and we were off to a fabulous day. We had no problems whatsoever with the boat. Mitch was so helpful and such a great guy. One thing I would advise is to bring water shoes for any island you visit, the beach is pretty rocky.
Anthony was a great captain!! Sweet boat and he is very knowledgeable about boating and the waters. Anthony was super accommodating to ensure we had a good time in which we did!! He felt like one of the group from the start. This Louisiana crew would recommend!
Austin was absolutely amazing to go out with. He was very prompt to respond to our request for a day of snorkeling. Austin took us to some gorgeous, isolated sandbars to hang out, brought paddle boards and snorkel equipment. We then went out to the Looe Key reef to snorkel an amazing reef. He was great with the kids and adults - personable, professional and lots of fun. We can’t recommend Austin enough!
Anthony showed us a great time all day. We would definitely recommend this to anyone that visits Key West. He is very experienced and is a great personality to be around all afternoon. If you’re a dog person, make sure to ask him to bring his dog!!
