South Moon is completely rebuilt during 2013, and launched in April 2014. It is beautiful 27 metres long wooden-hulled vessel,with 10 fully air-conditioned cabins, all with ensuite bathrooms. The dining and living areas are cozy, comfortable and air-conditioned, the two sun-decks spacious and just perfect to lounge. Frequently Asked Questions: • When is the best time to dive? - Diving in the Red Sea is possible year round. However, if you hope to see some of the larger pelagic life, July and August are when you will find larger concentrations of barracuda, tuna and a variety of shark species. • Can I hire equipment? - Yes, you can. Please advise when making a reservation if you wish to hire equipment. • What type of wet suit do I need? - A 5 mm wet suit is usually recommended for diving the Red Sea. In winter, you will need a full wet suit but in the summer months a shorty will suffice. • Can I take diving courses on a liveaboard? - It is possible to take courses on a liveaboard but you will need to book this in advance. We can suggest a Nitrox or Advanced course. • Is Nitrox available on board? - Yes, Nitrox is available on all our liveaboard boats. • Are night dives possible? - Yes, night dives are possible. • What is the minimum number of passengers required for the liveaboard to sail? - The minimum number of passengers required for a sailing is from 8 to 12 according to the selected boat. • Can you provide transfers from the airport to the boat? - Yes, transfers are provided. Please ensure that you advise us of your flight numbers and times of arrival/departure. • What currency will I need for Egypt? - The currency in Egypt is the Egyptian Pound (or LE). It is made up of 100 piasters. • What is the electricity voltage and what type of sockets do they have in Egypt and on the liveaboards? - The voltage is 220 and sockets are the normal two round pin, European-type. It is advisable to bring adaptors for any electrical appliances. • Are there medical facilities on the boat? - All our boats have first-aid boxes and oxygen.  • What is recommended for tipping/gratuities? - On liveaboards, it is usually customary to leave a one-time tip for the crew and dive guides at the end of the trip.
