During the summer months, whale sharks migrate to the Caribbean waters of Mexico from the southern Caribbean around Honduras and Panama. If you're hoping to see them while visiting Mexico, this is the best time for the highest chance of bumping into these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. Whale sharks are docile creatures who are not frightened by humans, which means you can swim alongside them for an immersive experience. These gentle giants are the largest fish in the ocean, growing up to 40 feet in length and weighing up to 20,000 pounds! Whale sharks pose no threat to humans. They’re filter-feeders, meaning they swim with their wide mouths open to suck in gallons of water to catch plankton and krill.

Getmyboat offers an unforgettable guided tour where you will have the humbling opportunity to come face to face with whale sharks in the open waters. You may even see colorful fish, dolphins, and stingrays passing by during your tour. It’s important to respect the whale sharks and their home as we are guests in this environment.
